FILM OVERVIEW
The Razor's Edge will take the audience into the lives of those facing poverty and survival every day, many calling the streets their home. We will gain a deep understanding of the often misunderstood world of those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. The film will shed light on several respected organizations that have built their foundation around helping those that live on the razor’s edge.
Our goal is to help our audience understand how complicated living on the margins of society can be and which organizations have the biggest impact on helping someone turn their life around.
An important segment of this film is the explanation of the value of proper nutrition for children growing up in poverty. Featured medical professionals will explain how a high calorie, high sugar, simple carbohydrate diet can affect children at a young age and well into their adult years.
Organizations and experts will illustrate the approaches they take to mitigate these complex problems; one example being the impact urban farming can have on a community that has been recognized as a food desert.
Detroit will be the home base for the film’s production but will feature other locations throughout Michigan, Palm Beach County, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and New York City.
